Shannon Hall - Color Guard Choreographer and Designer

Shannon Hall returns to the Reading Buccaneers for his 10th summer as the Color Guard Designer. This year also marks his 12th year of involvement with the corps, having been a performer for four years and caption head for three.

 Shannon has performed with the Reading Buccaneers in 2008, 2009, 2012 and 2013. He has also performed with the Black Watch Color Guard from 2006-2010, and 2012-2016, and held the position of Captain since 2014.

 Shannon has actively been involved in the marching arts across the Mid-Atlantic area through teaching and consulting with a variety of groups. He has worked with Pennsauken HS (NJ), Allentown HS (NJ), Broadneck HS (MD), and William Penn HS (DE) and the Black Watch Color Guard. Since 2013, Shannon has been a designer/choreographer for Middletown HS, in Middletown, Delaware, teaching their Cavaliers Marching Band, Independent Intermediate and Scholastic A Winter Guards. He has helped these groups achieve numerous awards and accolades, and will continue to develop and grow the Middletown programs.  This winter will also mark Shannon’s first year as a designer and choreographer for the Field of View Winter Guard.  

 Shannon is extremely excited to return to the Bucs, because he gets to work with such talented and educated instructors and world class performers.

Tyler Leynes - Choreographer and Lead Technician

As a proud alumni of the Reading Buccaneers organization, Tyler is excited to continue developing and strengthening the color guard in his second year on staff.  Tyler has a unique and fresh approach to utilizing his passion for choreographing as well as his previous performance experience to create a challenging yet rewarding environment.    

Tyler has an extensive performance resume spans the Mid-West through the Mid-Atlantic and includes The Cavaliers, Cpex Winter Guard, Black Watch Color Guard Field of View.  

Tyler’s talents have been widely sought after in the area and he has had the privilege of working with many high school groups in the Maryland and Pennsylvania area.  During the winter of 2019, Tyler will be continuing his third season at Field of View as a choreographer and designer and his second year at Delazure.

Tyler is excited to continuing bringing his style and vibe to the RBCG program.

John Taylor - Technical Staff

John Taylor is thrilled to be joining the Reading Buccaneers Color Guard staff in 2019. John performed with the Buccaneers in 2016, 2017, and 2018. An experienced color guard designer, technician, and adjudicator, John currently works with the color guard programs in the Avon Grove School District in Chester County, PA.

Outside of the marching arts, John is a registered nurse and Assistant Professor of Nursing at West Chester University. 

Mitch Muessner

Coming off the 2018 Season, Mitch Meussner is excited to take on a different role with the Reading Buccaneers Color Guard.  Reading was his first experience with Drum Corps, marching in the corps for 3 summers before joining the Crossmen Color Guard.  His indoor experience includes the Golden Sabers Winterguard as well as Just Class from Baltimore, Maryland. Choreographing and designing for high school programs in Maryland throughout Howard and Anne Arundel Counties, Mitch has most recently been working with Arundel High School.  He is looking forward to what this season has in store for the RBCG
