The Reading Buccaneers Need Your Support as We Truck Into 2022! COVID-19 may have put drum corps as we know it on hold in 2020 and 2021, but the Reading Buccaneers organization has been very busy behind the scenes as we work hard to ensure the corps is ready to return to the field as soon as conditions allow for the health and safety of our members, instructors, volunteers and fans. The corps may be ‘quiet,’ but the work and the planning continues. Our goal is to hit the ground running as soon as a ‘return to normal’ is possible.

Even though the corps is in a semi-active mode at the moment, our responsibilities continue. Revenue streams have stopped, but our expenses continue. The administration has worked hard to keep these expenses under control and ensure the fiscal health of the Buccaneers organization.

Despite our best planning, we are facing a major cost this year and we are asking for YOUR help in meeting this cost. Our white equipment truck will not pass inspection this year and we have determined that the most responsible course, and the most cost- effective over the long-term, is to replace the truck. We are actively exploring our options and we estimate conservatively that a replacement truck appropriate for the Buccaneers’ needs will cost us at least $20,000.

Please consider a donation to the Reading Buccaneers to help us meet this expense and help set us up for success. Gifts in any amount are needed and appreciated and will go a long way to help us meet this important expense. Here’s how you can donate:

  • Send a check payable to Reading Buccaneers, Inc. to P.O. Box 13032, Reading,

PA 19612-3032, and mark ‘Truck Campaign’ in the memo line

  • Use the donation form below and donate via paypal

After you make your gift, please help us get the word out and encourage your friends and family to consider a gift. We are chomping at the bit to get back to what we do best – providing a world-class experience for our members and entertaining drum corps fans as only the Reading Buccaneers can do. Your support has sustained us through this unprecedented interruption and will help ensure our continued success. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Rich Strang at

Thank you for your support!
