The Reading Buccaneers are excited to announce the drum majors for the 2024 voyage: Andrea, Michael and Nafis!

Andrea (Head Drum Major) has a rich drum corps history starting in 1987 with the Reading Buccaneers as a soprano then 1988 and 1989 with the Garfield Cadets. She returned to the Buccaneers as a mellophone in 1990 and took the podium 1991-1994. In 1995 she was assistant Drum Major with the Bushwhackers before taking 15 years off to have little Buccaneers.  She returned to the Bucs in 2011, and has been on the podium ever since. Since 2015 she has also held a position on the Executive Committee as the corps’ Secretary.
2024 marks her 23rd year in drum corps, 20 as a Buccaneer- 16 of those serving as their Drum Major.

Michael Antonacci is entering his third year as Assistant Drum Major with the Reading Buccaneers. He currently studies Music Education at West Chester University, where he previously marched six seasons with the West Chester University Golden Rams Marching Band playing mellophone, serving as section leader, and then as drum major for his latter three seasons. He also marched with Fusion Core where he played mellophone, trumpet, and was assistant drum major. Michael is an active educator in the marching arts, having taught on staff with the Fort Lee Marching Bridgemen, Downingtown East Blue and Gold Band, and currently with the Ridley High School Raider Band. Outside of teaching Marching Band, Michael serves as the Head of Leadership Curriculum for Drum Major Leadership Academy.


Nafis Harris After first joining the Tubas of Reading in 2023, Nafis Harris is spending year 2 as Assistant Drum Major for 2024. His eighth year in the activity, he marched with Fusion Core as a member of the hornline for the 2008-2010 and 2015-2016 seasons and as assistant drum major in 2017. Nafis has spent the last few fall seasons as an instructor for Burlington City High School marching band.
